Our organically crafted Kaffir Lime Essential Oil, also known as Makrut Lime Essential Oil and Thai Bergamot Essential Oil, is steam distilled from the tart, green rinds and fresh leaves of the bumpy skinned Citrus hystrix fruit growing wild in the tropical forests of Indonesia. Also called Combava, Markrut Lime is used in Thai, Laos and South Indian cooking for a zesty lime flavor.
Kaffir Lime Oil is an unusual citrus oil, far lower in Limonene content than most other citrus oils; this essential oil has a deeper note, for perfumery, rather than the light top note we expect from a citrus oil.
